This policy covers nidarshanavedh.com and jain.nidarshanavedh.com (together, “the site”), and the Pro tool at app.nidarshanavedh.com, operated by Nidarshana Vedh from Gujarat, India. It is written to be read, not skimmed. Last updated 29 October 2026.
What we collect and why
Your email address, when you use the free tools. Before any of the free tools runs (the kundali, matching and numerology tools, the calculators, the checks built into articles and, on the Jain site, the muhurta finder, the panchang for another place or date, and the daily times for another date), we ask for your email and your explicit consent, and we email you a 6-digit code to type in (the same email has a one-click link as well). Before sending it, we check that the part of the address after the @ can receive mail at all, using a public DNS lookup. We store the address, the exact consent text you agreed to, the date and time, the page you were on, the country, region and city your connection points to (approximate, from your internet address), your browser and device type, how you reached the site (the referring site and any campaign tag, when your browser shares them and you have allowed cookies), and your cookie choice (accepted, rejected or not answered). We use it to confirm the address is yours and, because you agreed, to send occasional emails about your chart, timings and new tools, starting with one welcome email after you confirm. On nidarshanavedh.com the charts are worked out in your browser, from tables served by this site. On the Jain site some chart calculations go through an astronomy service, which receives only the birth data needed to compute positions, never your email. Names and numbers typed into the numerology and name tools are kept with your email once it is confirmed, as described below.
Your birth details, once your email is confirmed. From 13 October 2026, when you have confirmed your email and you run a tool on nidarshanavedh.com that takes a birth date, time and place, those details (with the name, if you typed one) and the headline of the result (Moon sign, nakshatra, ascendant, Sun sign and the current dasha) are kept with your email address, as the consent text says. We use them for one purpose: so that the emails you agreed to can speak about your own chart rather than a generic one. We keep the last five charts entered from an address, because people often check family members too. Nothing is kept for a device that has not confirmed an email, and nothing is kept once you unsubscribe. These details are not sold or shared, and Delete my data removes them at once, together with your email and consent record. People who signed up before 13 October 2026 are asked with a separate tick before anything is kept.
Place search. When you type a birthplace, Indian towns and cities are found from a list kept on this site (place names and coordinates from GeoNames, shared under CC BY 4.0), so nothing you type leaves the page. For any other place, the letters you type are sent to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service to find matching places. That service sees the search text and your IP address, as any website would. On the full kundali tool, the latitude and longitude of the place you pick are also sent to timeapi.io to find its time zone (if it does not answer, the time zone is found on the page itself); it receives no name, date or email. We do not see or store any of these searches.
Your names, numbers and home details, once your email is confirmed. From 15 October 2026, when you have confirmed your email and you run a numerology, name or Vastu tool (on nidarshanavedh.com: the moolank and bhagyank, Lo Shu grid, name number, mobile, vehicle, house and business number, name spelling, numerology compatibility, favourable dates, rashi by name, baby names by date of birth and griha pravesh days by door direction tools, and the Numerology and Names tab of the full kundali tool), what you typed or picked (for example a name, a date of birth, a mobile, vehicle or house number, or the way a door faces) and the headline of the result (for example “Your name number is 7”) are kept with your email address, as the consent text says. A number you type is kept as you typed it, even if it belongs to someone else. We use them for one purpose: so that the emails you agreed to can be personal to you rather than generic. We keep the last ten different entries of each kind from an address, and the same entry run again is counted, not stored twice. Nothing is kept for a device that has not confirmed an email, and nothing is kept once you unsubscribe. These details are not sold or shared, and Delete my data removes them at once, together with your email and consent record. People who signed up before 13 October 2026 are asked with a separate tick before anything is kept.
Personal Transit Alerts
If you sign up for Personal Transit Alerts (when they open), your birth date, time and place are used in your browser only. What reaches us is your Moon sign, your birth nakshatra and the dates of your Vimshottari dasha changes (the last two only if you give a birth time), your device’s time zone, your first name if you give it, whether you want the monthly summary, the email address you confirmed with a code, and the time and wording of your consent. They are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database used only for these alerts, and the emails are sent through Resend. We use them only to send the alerts you asked for and the calendar feed linked from them. Every alert has a one-click unsubscribe link and a link to delete this data at once. A request made on delete my data also removes it within a day, and unsubscribing from our other emails after signing up stops the alerts too.
Booking details, when you book a consultation. Bookings run through Cal.com. The name, email, phone number, birth details and questions you enter there are held in our Cal.com account and in the calendar of the astrologer so that the session can take place. Payment details are exchanged by email and are never entered on this site.
Messages you send us. Contact and correction forms are delivered to our mailbox through FormSubmit and kept as ordinary email.
Feedback on the tools. Each result on the tools has a link for telling us that something looks wrong, unclear or missing. When you send one, we receive your message and rating, the section and page it refers to, the country your connection came from and your browser type, and your email address only if you give it for a reply. The birth details you entered (on the panchang and muhurta tools, the date, place or purpose you chose) are included only if you tick the box asking for them to be sent, so that the exact chart or day can be checked. We use feedback only to check and correct the tools and to reply to you.
Reviews of shop items. On a product page in the shop you can leave a review. When you send one we receive the rating, whether you say you bought it, your review text, your first name, your town if you give one, and the page it is about. We do not ask for your email address. Your first name and town are shown on the page only if you tick the box that says so; otherwise the review appears as from “A reader”. With each review we keep a short scrambled code made from your connection address (not the address itself), used only to limit how many reviews one person can send in a day; the spam check is run for us by Cloudflare Turnstile. Every review is read by us before it is shown, and we never change your words, though we may leave out a review that is spam, abusive or off the topic. A review is kept until you ask us to remove it. To have yours removed, write to [email protected] with the product page and a few words of the review, and we will take it down within 7 days. Reviews are stored in our Cloudflare D1 database.
Questions you ask the chat helper. Once your email is confirmed, a question you type into the chat, with the earlier messages of that chat, is sent to Anthropic’s Claude to write the answer. If a result is showing on the page when you ask, that result is sent with your question so the answer can use it: the names, dates, times and places you entered for it (never your email address) and the text of the result. For a question about your own chart, the chat can ask for your birth details: the chart is worked out in your browser and sent with your question in the same way, and the details stay in that browser tab for your next questions. If our tools kept charts for you, their headlines (rising sign, Moon sign, birth star, Sun sign and running period) can be sent too, and the chat can show those charts to you so that you can pick one. We do not store your questions or what is sent with them. The written answer, which may mention your chart, is kept on our server for up to 10 minutes, so that it is not lost if you close the chat or open another page while it is being written. Only someone signed in with your confirmed email can fetch it, and it is deleted when the 10 minutes are up. When our checker finds a date or period in a draft answer that does not match the chart, a short note of that mismatch (the words used and what the chart says, without any name, email, birth details or question) is kept for 14 days so that we can improve the checker. You get 5 free written answers a day. Please do not type private details into the chat. We count only how many answers each email and connection received that day, and those counts are deleted after three days.
Analytics, only if you accept cookies. When you press Accept on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and PostHog to see which pages and tools are used and where they break. They record the pages you view, clicks and scrolling, recordings of your visits (session replays, with typed text masked), your device, browser, screen size and language, your approximate location and the site that sent you. IP addresses are truncated or not stored by these providers. If you press Reject, none of them runs. We do not run advertising on the site. The cookie policy lists every cookie and how long it lasts. To count visits we also use Umami for everyone: it sets no cookies, does not store your IP address and cannot identify you; it only adds up pages, visit length, referring sites, countries, device types and browsers. When a page opens from a link in an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, your browser also tells us which assistant it was; we keep only a daily total of such visits, with nothing about you.
Linking analytics to your email. If you have accepted cookies (or ticked the optional cookie box when giving us your email) and you have given us your email address to use the free tools, we attach that address to your Microsoft Clarity visitor record, which groups your visits from the same browser before and after, so that when you write to us we can see how the tools actually behaved for you rather than guess. Clarity hashes the address inside your browser before anything is sent, so Microsoft does not receive it in readable form, and we pass no display name. Visitors who have not given us an email address are never linked this way. Your address is also kept in your own browser’s local storage so the link survives between visits; clearing your browser data removes it, and asking us to delete your data removes the rest.
Opens and clicks in our emails. From 19 October 2026, the emails we send about your chart and the planets (not the emails with your code) contain a tiny invisible image, and their links pass through links.nidarshanavedh.com, run for us by our email provider Resend. This tells us whether an email was opened, when, and which link was pressed. We use it only to see which emails are useful, so that we send fewer of the ones that are not. It is kept with your email record and removed with it when you delete your data. Many mail apps block such images, and you can block them too.
The Pro tool, if you are an astrologer using it. Nidarshana Vedh Pro runs at app.nidarshanavedh.com. Our server keeps your account email, your plan and its dates, your payment records and the devices signed in. To start the free trial you sign in with Google; from Google we keep only your Google account id and email address. The sign-in uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that you are not a bot. With each sign-in and use we record your country and a one-way code (a hash) of your internet address and network, never the address itself, to stop abuse and to allow one free trial per person. Payments go through Razorpay, which handles the card or UPI details on its own page; we do not see or store them. The client records you enter, with their birth details, notes and reports, are saved on your own device, not on our server, and you are responsible for your clients’ consent to keep them. When you press “Open this chart in the Pro tool” on a free tool, the birth details of that one chart go to our Pro server, locked, and can be opened only once, within 15 minutes; then they are deleted. When you ask the AI reader for a reading, the chart facts needed for it (the planet positions, houses, periods and your question) are sent to Anthropic, the AI provider, to write the draft. Please keep names and contact details out of the question. When you cancel a plan in the tool, a locked copy of your data download is kept on our server for 30 days, so that the link we email you works, and is then deleted. If you delete your account, your payment records are kept without your email, as tax rules ask, and one-way codes of your email and Google account are kept so that the free trial cannot be taken twice. The terms and conditions and the refund and cancellation policy say the rest.
Where the data lives
Email and consent records, and feedback on the tools, are stored in Cloudflare Workers KV, and a copy is kept in a private spreadsheet in our own Google account (Google Sheets), and is kept in our own private customer relationship system, which runs on Cloudflare (Workers and D1), so that we can honour unsubscribe and deletion requests in one place. If you write to us, or we reply to you, the date, subject and a short extract of those emails are recorded there too, so that we can follow up properly; nothing else from our mailbox is stored, and you can ask for all of it to be deleted. Verification and any nurture emails are sent through Resend. Bookings live in Cal.com. Shop reviews are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database, and the Pro tool’s accounts, plans and payment records on our Pro server, which also runs on Cloudflare (Workers and D1). The chat’s written answer waits in Cloudflare Workers KV for up to 10 minutes. Questions to the chat helper and to the Pro tool’s AI reader are sent to Anthropic to write the answer. Analytics data lives with Google, Microsoft and PostHog. The site itself is served by Cloudflare Pages.
How long we keep it
Email and consent records, and the birth details, chart headlines, names, numbers and home details and result headlines kept with them, are kept until you ask us to delete them or until we close the list. Personal Transit Alerts data is kept until you stop the alerts and delete it from the link in any alert, or ask us to. Feedback is kept while it is useful for improving the tools, and deleted on request. A shop review is kept until you ask us to remove it. The chat’s written answer is kept for 10 minutes, the checker’s notes for 14 days and the daily answer counts for three days. Pro tool records are kept as the Pro paragraph above says. Booking records are kept for three years for accounting. Your record in our customer system is kept until you ask us to delete it. Session recordings are deleted by Microsoft Clarity after 30 days, or after up to 9 months for any we save to review. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Our backups delete themselves within 14 days, so a deletion reaches them within two weeks.
Your rights
You may at any time ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you may withdraw consent for emails with a single reply or with the one-click unsubscribe link in any email we send. Write to [email protected] and we will act within 7 days. This applies to everyone, and it reflects the rights set out in India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The quickest way to delete everything is Delete my data: confirm your email with a code and it is done.
