Shikakai is the dried pod of an Acacia species, and has long been used in India to wash hair. This pack lists the powder as made completely from shikakai pods, and the seller photo shows the dark pods beside the brown powder.
The seller says it is certified organic by USDA Organic and India Organic, and notes that Bhavaprakasha Nighantu, a classical Ayurvedic text, mentions shikakai. The page we read did not give the pack size, so check the listing.
How it is used
The seller says to mix the powder with warm water into a smooth paste and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes. Wet the hair, apply the paste to hair and scalp, rub for 2 to 3 minutes and wash off.
