About this book

Sankshipta Shiva Purana is the condensed version of the Shiva Mahapurana, a major text of Shaiva tradition. This is the Gita Press, Gorakhpur edition in Hindi, sold as a special edition in the large size.

It is a hardcover of 832 pages with a maroon cover showing Shiva with Parvati and the family. The photos show the book open, with Hindi text in two columns and some line illustrations. It suits a reader who wants the Shiva Purana in Hindi without reading the full set.

How it is used

Many Shiva devotees read it a chapter at a time, and some homes read it through during Shravan or Mahashivratri. It is a reading book, not a prayer manual.
