About this book
The Kalpa Sutra is a Jain scripture that gives the lives of the Tirthankaras, especially Mahavira, and is traditionally recited during Paryushan. This edition is illustrated in colour throughout.
The text is in Prakrit, Hindi and English, and the seller lists Amar Muni as the author. It was published by Prakrit Bharati Academy, Jaipur, in 2008, and runs to 300 pages in a large hardcover that weighs about 1 kg. The cover is bright yellow with a collage of painted scenes and Tirthankara figures.
How it is used
Used for reading the life accounts of the Tirthankaras, and in many Jain homes it is read or heard around Paryushan. The three languages let a reader follow the Prakrit with a translation.
