About this piece
This is a drum-shaped copper pot with a hammered surface, a flat lid with a loop handle and a tap fitted low on the body. The photos show a band running round the middle and a plain inside.
It holds 8 litres. The seller page gives no height or weight, so check the pot against the space you have. It suits a home that wants a large copper pot for stored water with a tap for pouring.
How it is used
Water is filled from the top and poured from the tap. Storing drinking water in copper is an old household custom in India. A full pot adds about 8 kg, so place it on a firm, level surface at a height where a glass fits under the tap.
Looking after it
- Wash by hand and dry well.
- Rinse the tap after use.
