About this piece
The set has one 10.5 inch plate, two small bowls, one glass and one spoon, all in kansa, the copper and tin alloy also called bell metal. The photos show a plain polished finish with a low rim on the plate.
The seller says kansa needs no tin coating, and that colour and tone differ a little from piece to piece. A single set suits one diner. There is also a 2 set option on the page.
How it is used
A thaali is the large plate on which a meal is served, with the bowls set on it for dal, vegetables or curd. Kansa tableware has long been used in many Indian homes for everyday meals.
