About this piece
Kansa is an alloy of copper and tin, long used in India for thalis, bowls and tumblers. This Veda Essentials set serves six and includes 10.5 inch plates, bowls, glasses, sweet dish plates and spoons, all in a plain matte finish.
The photos show every piece in a soft bronze tone with no pattern. It suits a household that wants to eat from kansa every day, and has room to wash and dry the pieces by hand.
How it is used
Use it as a daily dinner set or keep it for festival meals. Many Indian homes serve meals on kansa thalis, and some keep a set for guests and for prasad on special days.
Looking after it
- Wash by hand and dry well after each use.
- Kansa tarnishes with time and can be polished.
