About this piece
A rounded holder with a small opening at the top and a lattice of cut-out shapes across the sides, so a lit tea light inside shows through the pattern. The finish is gold-coloured, and the iron is handcrafted according to the seller.
One photo also shows a long thin wire holder with a small cup at the base, which appears to be a tool for setting the tea light inside. It is from the Saadat collection, and the page gave no size.
How it is used
Cut-work holders throw a pattern of light on the wall or table around them, and are often set on a shelf or table for Diwali evenings. The tea light goes inside, through the top opening.
Looking after it
- Keep it dry, as iron can rust.
- Let it cool before you handle it after the flame.
