About this piece
A pocket temple is a small box that opens to show a devotional image, made to sit on a shelf or desk or to be given as a gift. This one shows the Ram Darbar as a raised gold plated panel: Rama in the centre, Sita beside him, Lakshmana next to them and Hanuman kneeling with folded hands, as the seller describes.
It measures 8 x 4.5 x 1.5 inches. The photos show a white box lined in red, with gold panels inside.
How it is used
Many homes keep a Ram Darbar image in the pooja space or on a small shelf. The seller suggests placing it in your pooja space, and also lists it as a gift for housewarmings, birthdays and new beginnings.
Looking after it
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth and keep water and oil off the plating.
