About this piece
The Shri Yantra is a set of interlocking triangles around a central point, used in the Shri Vidya tradition and associated with the goddess Lakshmi and Lalita Tripurasundari. This one is cast in brass in a raised, stepped form rather than as a flat plate.
The photos show the pyramid shape from the side and the layered pattern from above on a square base. It is 7.5 cm high on an 11.5 cm square base and weighs 950 gm, so it is a solid piece for a shelf or altar.
How it is used
A raised Shri Yantra is traditionally kept on a clean surface in the puja room or on a home altar, and is worshipped with flowers, kumkum or incense. Many families follow instructions from their own teacher.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Polish gently with a dry cloth if the brass dulls.
