Which Dosha Do I Have? All 31 Conditions the Free Tool Tests

“Which dosha do I have?” is one of the most common things anyone brings to a chart, and it is usually answered badly. The typical free tool checks three or four conditions, reports the ones it finds, and stops. You are told a dosha is present. You are not told the rule that produced that verdict, and you are almost never told whether the classical cancellation for it applies to you.

The free kundali tool here tests 31 dosha conditions on every chart. It shows all 31, including the ones you do not have. For each one it prints the exact classical rule, a severity grade, and where the dosha is present, the full parihara (cancellation) list with each cancellation separately tested against your actual placements.

That last part is the whole point. A dosha without its cancellations is not an analysis. It is a scare with a chart attached.

What the panel gives you for each condition

A summary strip at the top counts four numbers: conditions tested, present in your chart, present with cancellations active, and not present. The count of things you do not have is shown deliberately. A tool that only reports hits gives you no way to judge how hard it was looking.

Mangal dosha cancellation, worked properly

Mangal dosha is the single most searched dosha in Indian astrology, and the place where the gap between “detected” and “analysed” is widest.

The tool counts Mars from three reference points, not one: the Lagna, the Moon and Venus. This is the stricter north Indian method, and it produces the severity grade directly. Mars in a dosha house from all three references reads as high. From two, moderate. From one, mild.

Then it tests the cancellations. The classical parihara list it carries:

• Mars in its own sign, Aries or Scorpio, or exalted in Capricorn
• Mars in the sign of a benefic, or conjunct or aspected by Jupiter
• Both partners carrying Mangal dosha, the classical mutual cancellation
• Mars in Leo or Aquarius, per several authorities
• Jupiter or Venus placed in the Lagna
• Age above 28, per the widely followed convention

Each of the chart-testable ones is checked against your placements and reported individually. If Jupiter aspects Mars in your chart, the panel says so in those words. If none of them applies, it says that too, which matters just as much. And when a cancellation is active, the severity is reduced rather than left standing at its original grade.

The mutual-cancellation condition and the age convention are listed but not asserted, because the tool does not know your age or your partner’s chart from a single birth entry. Listing a condition it cannot test, and not pretending to have tested it, is the honest arrangement.

Kaal Sarp with the named types, and the partial case

Kaal Sarp is usually reported as a binary. It is not one.

The tool checks whether all seven classical planets fall in the semicircle running from Rahu to Ketu. If they do, that is a complete Kaal Sarp yoga and it reports high severity. If one or two planets fall outside the axis, it reports Ardha (partial) Kaal Sarp at mild severity and names the planets that break it. If three or more fall outside, no Kaal Sarp condition forms at all, and it says which planets are responsible.

Where the condition does form, the tool identifies which of the twelve named types it is, from the house position of Rahu: Anant, Kulik, Vasuki, Shankhpal, Padma, Mahapadma, Takshak, Karkotak, Shankhachud, Ghatak, Vishdhar and Sheshnag.

The cancellations shown include the mitigating effect of strong benefics in kendras or trikonas, Jupiter aspecting the Lagna or the Moon, and the plain observation the classical texts support: this is read as a marker of karmic intensity, not a calamity, and a great many accomplished lives carry it.

Sade Sati, with the phase named

Sade Sati is not one condition either. The tool locates Saturn’s transit position relative to your natal Moon and names the phase:

• 12th from the Moon: the rising phase, arohini, reported as mild
• Over the Moon: the peak phase, madhya, reported as high
• 2nd from the Moon: the setting phase, avarohini, reported as moderate
• 4th from the Moon: Kantak Shani, the two-and-a-half year panoti
• 8th from the Moon: Ashtama Shani

Anywhere else, it reports the actual house Saturn occupies from your Moon and states that you are outside both the Sade Sati and panoti positions.

Two cancellations are tested live. If Saturn is transiting Capricorn, Aquarius or Libra, its own signs or its exaltation, the panel says the period is classically softened considerably. If your Lagna is Taurus or Libra, for which Saturn is a yogakaraka, it says the character of the period is substantially different for you.

This panel needs a current Saturn transit position. Where that input is missing, it says so instead of printing a phase it cannot support.

Kemdrum, and the four cancellations that are usually left out

Kemdrum dosha is the isolated Moon: no planet other than the Sun, Rahu or Ketu in the 2nd or 12th sign from it. It is widely reported and rarely qualified, which is unfortunate, because the classical cancellations are numerous and common.

The tool carries all four and tests each:

• A planet in a kendra from the Moon or from the Lagna
• The Moon itself in a kendra from the Lagna
• The Moon conjunct or aspected by a benefic
• A full Moon, or the Moon in its own sign or exalted

Where one is active, severity drops from moderate to mild and the specific planet is named. If Mercury sits in a kendra from your Moon, the panel says “Mercury occupies a kendra from the Moon, a recognised cancellation.”

Debilitation, and Neecha Bhanga tested rather than mentioned

A debilitated planet is a standard alarm in mass-market output. The classical position is more interesting: debilitation can be cancelled, and a cancelled debilitation is held to produce Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga, strength won through difficulty.

The tool finds every debilitated planet, then for each one it looks up the dispositor and checks whether it sits in a kendra from the Lagna. If it does, the panel names the planet and says Neecha Bhanga is produced. It separately checks retrogression, which several authorities treat as restoring strength. Where any cancellation fires, severity drops.

One condition the tool refuses to dramatise

Balarishta is the classical infant-longevity configuration. It is in the literature, so a tool claiming completeness cannot silently drop it. It is also the kind of output that does real harm when printed carelessly.

The tool takes a specific position. It tests the configuration, reports it as classical study only, and states plainly that any reader of the page is past infancy, so the combination is void by the texts’ own terms. Its cancellation list notes that benefic influence on the Moon cancels it in every classical treatment, and that every authority requires multiple confirmations before it is even discussed. The prescribed response is: no action is indicated.

Mrityubhaga is handled the same way. It is computed, it is shown, and it is explicitly stated to say nothing about lifespan.

What the engine will not do

No dosha on the panel can be removed by a purchase. There are no gemstone recommendations in the dosha output and no fee-based ritual, ever. The responses are practices: mantra japa, fasting and vrata on the graha’s own weekday, charity and changed conduct. A difficult chart is treated as karmic weather rather than a verdict, which is the tradition’s own position and not a softening of it.

The engine also does not fail loudly. Each of the 31 tests is isolated, so a missing input in one condition cannot take the panel down. Where a test lacks what it needs, the condition reports the missing input rather than guessing.

Where this sits in the category

Our competitive review, checked against vendor pages on 1 August 2026, found three things worth stating plainly.

The professional desktop tools, which are the deepest calculators in the category, barely treat doshas at all. The feature page of the most feature-dense product we found does not use the word.

The Indian mass-market tools do ship doshas, but shallowly.

And in neither group could we find a product that shows the triggering rule and the cancellation logic side by side, tested against the chart in front of you.
