About this piece
An ubtan is a traditional Indian powder used on the face in place of a soap or scrub. This Soundarya blend from the seller is sold in a 40 g jar.
The seller says it is made with fresh, sun-dried and hand-pounded herbs, including fennel seeds, star anise, fenugreek, saffron and lemon peel. The jar in the photos is teal with a gold lid, and one photo shows its white back label.
How it is used
The seller says to mix it with milk or yoghurt into a paste, apply, then rinse. It says the powder can be used as a cleanser, an exfoliator or a face mask.
