About this piece

Haldi Varnya Lepa is a turmeric face masque. A lepa is the Ayurvedic word for a paste applied to the skin and rinsed off after a while.

The seller says it contains four varieties of turmeric, ten Varnya herbs and steam distilled rosewater, and that it follows the formulas of the Charak Samhita. It comes in a dark glass jar with a black lid and a yellow label.

How it is used

A lepa is spread over the face, left on for the time given on the label and then rinsed off. Check the jar for the directions. Turmeric can leave a yellow tint on cloth, so keep a towel you do not mind staining.
