About this piece
Kansa is bell metal, an alloy of copper and tin, long used for Indian utensils and for foot and face massage tools. This wand from the seller has a kansa head at one end with a smooth rounded surface.
The photos show a brown wood-grain handle with gold coloured metal ends, and the wand lying next to its small cardboard box. Size and weight were not on the page we read. The seller says it is made in India.
How it is used
Kansa wand massage is a traditional practice in which the rounded metal head is moved over the face and neck in slow strokes, often with a little oil. The seller's page does not give directions in the text we read.
Looking after it
- Wipe the wand clean and dry after each use.
- Keep it dry between uses, as kansa can darken with damp.
