About this piece
The set has one large plate, five small bowls, one glass and one spoon, all in kansa, the copper and tin alloy also called bell metal. The seller says the alloy is roughly 73 percent copper and 27 percent tin. The photos show a golden, lined finish on the plate and bowls.
The plate weighs 1.15 kg. Each bowl is about 9.5 cm across, and the glass holds 220 ml. It suits someone who wants a full thali with several bowls on one plate.
How it is used
A thali like this is used to serve a full meal on one plate, with the bowls set on it for dal, vegetables, curd and sweets. Kansa tableware has long been used in many Indian homes.
