About this piece
This set is made of kansa, the copper and tin alloy also called bell metal, and serves four. Each place has one plate, two bowls, a glass and a spoon. The photos show a plain, polished finish with a low rim on the plates.
The seller says kansa needs no tin coating, and that colour and tone differ a little from piece to piece. It suits a family that wants a matching kansa set for daily meals or for guests.
How it is used
A thaali is the large plate for a full meal, with bowls placed on it for dal, vegetables and curd. Kansa tableware has long been used in many Indian homes for everyday meals.
