About this piece
A karchi is the long handled ladle used to stir and serve dal, curries and similar dishes. This one is solid brass with a slim, slightly curved handle and a small round bowl at the end.
It measures 31 cm in length and weighs 190 g. The seller says each piece is handcrafted. It suits a kitchen with brass or copper cookware and a cook who likes a long handle.
How it is used
A karchi is used for stirring and serving at the stove. The long handle keeps the hand away from the heat.
