About this piece
A small, round brass pan made for tempering spices. It holds 400 ml, with a bowl about 12.7 cm across and a long handle fixed with rivets. The photos show a golden brass bowl and a maroon grip on the handle.
The seller says it has a built in pour spout. It weighs 450 g. It suits a kitchen that tempers dal and vegetables on the stove.
How it is used
A tadka pan is used on the stove to heat a little oil and temper whole spices before pouring them over a dish. The long handle keeps the hand away from the flame.
