About this piece
A mala made of natural 4 mukhi rudraksha beads from Nepal, with polished wooden beads between them. The seller says the beads are large and are strung head to tail.
The seller names Om Hreem Namah as the beej mantra. The photos show the mala looped twice with a drop bead, laid on gold cloth, stretched out, and worn on a neck display.
How it is used
A rudraksha mala is traditionally worn or used for japa, repeating a mantra on the beads. The seller suggests it for daily wear and for practice. The Shiva Purana (Vidyeshvara Samhita 25, verse 68) calls the four-faced bead Brahma himself. Astrologers today pair this bead with Mercury (Budh); the pairing is a later convention, not a statement of the Purana, and it is the one this site uses in its rudraksha guide and free kundali.
Looking after it
- Keep it away from water, soap and perfume.
- Store it in a dry pouch when not worn.
