About this piece
A wall hanging in brass as a Tripura Sundari Yantra. The photos show the familiar Shri Yantra pattern: interlocking triangles at the centre, rings of lotus petals around them and a square border with gates, all in golden lines against a dark ground.
It is 38 cm (15 in) square and only 0.5 cm deep, so it hangs flat. At 1.2 kg it is heavier than it looks. It suits a puja room wall or a clean wall in a study or hall.
How it is used
Tripura Sundari, also called Lalita, is the goddess traditionally worshipped through the Shri Yantra. Many homes hang a Shri Yantra on a clean wall in the puja room or place one on the altar. Methods of worship differ by family and lineage, so follow your own teacher's guidance.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners on the brass.
