About this piece
A copper yantra plate as the Shri Mahalakshmi Kubera Yantra. Mahalakshmi is the goddess of prosperity and Kubera the god of wealth in Hindu tradition. The photo shows a gold coloured plate engraved with two figures in arched panels on either side of a lamp, and two star shaped yantra diagrams below, with Sanskrit text around the edge.
It measures 20.5 cm (8 in) square. The seller page does not list a weight.
How it is used
Many homes keep a Kubera image or yantra in the north, the direction traditionally linked with him. A plate this size is usually placed on the altar or hung on a clean wall. Practices differ by family and lineage.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Copper darkens with time; this is normal.
