About this piece
A diya shaped from grey stone, with a rounded body, a shallow bowl and a small pointed spout. The surface looks slightly rough and natural, with a darker, plain grain.
The seller says it was made by experienced sculptors and suggests it as a Diwali gift. The page we read does not name the kind of stone or give measurements.
How it is used
A stone diya is filled with oil and a cotton wick, and lit at the daily puja or on a festival evening. Many people choose stone for its plain, earthen look next to metal lamps.
Looking after it
- Wash off old oil with warm soapy water and dry well.
- Stone can be heavy and may chip if dropped.
