About this piece
A small, plain diya in brass with an antique finish. The bowl has a pointed lip for the wick, and a band of carved pattern runs around the outside. The inside is smooth and polished.
The seller says it was crafted by experienced sculptors and that it can also be given as a return gift. The page we read gave no measurements, but the photos show a hand-sized lamp.
How it is used
A diya like this is filled with oil or ghee and a cotton wick, and lit at the daily puja or on a festival evening such as Diwali. A few can be lit together on a tray.
Looking after it
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
- Wash off old oil with warm soapy water, then dry well.
