About this piece
A simple oil lamp in brass. The bowl on top is wide and shallow, it narrows to a slim waist, and the base flares out again, so the whole piece has an hourglass outline. The surface is polished and plain, with no carving., the seller's shop, sells it as the larger of two Buddha lamps and describes it as compact enough to carry. The page we read gave no measurements.
How it is used
An oil lamp like this is lit with a wick and oil on a puja shelf or in a meditation corner. Because it is plain and compact, it can also be moved from room to room.
Looking after it
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth after the flame has cooled.
- Polish brass occasionally with a mild brass cleaner if it darkens.
