About this piece
A handmade brass statue of Kali shown with four arms and a mace, standing on a rough, rock-like base. The surface is painted in green and orange-red over dark metal, so it looks quite different from the usual plain gold brass finish.
At 19 cm tall and 1.85 kg it is a small piece that fits on a shelf or in a corner of a home shrine. The back is plain and flat, as the photos show, so it is made to be seen from the front.
How it is used
Kali is worshipped in many Hindu homes and temples, often with a lamp and flowers placed before the image. A small brass figure like this is usually kept on a shrine shelf or altar, at a height where it can be seen easily during puja.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Do not scrub the painted surface.
