About this piece
A seated Lakshmi in bronze, shown in the photos with a bright, polished gold colour against a dark ground. She has four arms and sits on a lotus base with a crowned head and a halo behind her.
The idol is 19 cm (7.5 in) tall and weighs 3.25 kg, which makes it a mid sized piece for a home altar or a wide shelf. The seller's listing calls it 7 inch.
How it is used
Many homes keep a Lakshmi image on the altar in the puja room, often with a lamp, flowers and a small offering. At this size it can be the main image on a modest shelf.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Avoid harsh polish, which can mark the finish.
