About this piece
Ghee is clarified butter, used in cooking and in puja lamps. Anveshan's ghee comes in a 500 ml round glass jar with a golden lid. The seller says it is made from the milk of Gir cows from Gujarat, using the bilona method.
Bilona means curd is made first, then churned by hand with a wooden churner, and the butter is heated slowly into ghee, not made from cream. The seller says the pack comes with a steel dolchi, a small ladle. The photos show the jar and a bowl of golden ghee.
How it is used
Ghee is used for tempering, frying, sweets and on rotis and dal. Many homes also light a ghee diya in daily puja, with a cotton wick dipped in ghee. Store it in a cool, dry place.
