About this piece
A chapati box, handcrafted in brass with a hammered, golden outside. The seller says the inside has a tin coating with a silver finish.
The box is about 20 cm wide and 9 cm tall and weighs 0.99 kg, and the lid sits on top with a small knob. The photos show it on a grey ground, held in two hands and in a gift box. It suits a kitchen counter or a dining table for serving chapatis.
How it is used
A roti dabba holds cooked chapatis and keeps them covered at the table or on the kitchen counter. The seller says it can also hold vegetables or other dry foods.
Looking after it
- Wash with mild soap and a soft sponge, as the seller advises for brass.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or steel wool.
- Dry thoroughly after washing.
