About this piece
A round pendant in pure silver, from the Navagraha (nine planets) series. Rahu is one of the two lunar nodes in Vedic astrology. The photo shows both sides: a figure of Rahu on a mount on the front, and on the reverse a square number grid with text around the edge.
The seller lists it as 999 fineness silver, 2.5 cm (1 in) across and 5.5 g. The photo shows the pendant only, without a chain.
How it is used
Pendants of this kind are worn on a chain, close to the body. In tradition each planet has its own image and yantra, and a pendant like this carries both. Many people choose one with an astrologer's advice.
Looking after it
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
- Store away from damp, which can tarnish silver.
