About this piece
A square brass yantra from the Navagraha range. The seller spells the name Buddha; the lettering on the plate reads Budh, the Sanskrit name of Mercury, one of the nine grahas of Vedic astrology. It has nothing to do with the Buddha of Buddhism.
The photo shows a three by three number grid in a dark green panel with an arrow at each side and lettering above and below. It measures 9 cm each side. No weight is given.
How it is used
A graha yantra is traditionally kept in the puja room or on the shrine, often with the planet's mantra recited before it. Practices differ by family and teacher.
