Free. The first time, we ask for your email and send a 6-digit code to confirm it. The calculation runs in your browser: the place you pick is not sent to us, only the place search (OpenStreetMap) is asked.

How this tool works

Pick your town or city from the list that appears as you type, choose the year and press the button. The tool finds the time zone for the place, works out sunrise, sunset, moonrise and midnight for every day of the year, and applies the festival rules to give the same tables you see on the city pages: the major festivals with their key times, and every Ekadashi, Purnima, Amavasya, Sankashti Chaturthi and Pradosh Vrat.

The calculation runs in your browser from Swiss Ephemeris tables, with the sidereal Lahiri zodiac and the Smarta rules, so the place you choose is not sent to us. The only request that leaves the page is the place search, which is answered by OpenStreetMap. For the 49 cities on the festivals hub the result is the same as the city page.

A few things to know

Very far north or south, in places where the Sun or Moon does not rise or set for days, some times may be missing and the tool says so. Daylight saving is applied automatically. If your family or temple keeps a different day for a festival, it is right to follow them.

Frequently asked questions

↳ Does the tool need my email?

The first time you use it, it asks for an email address and sends a six-digit code, the same free check as the other tools on the site. After that it runs without asking again on the same device.

↳ Why does the result for my city match the city page?

Both use the same calculation and the same display code. The city pages are built from the calculation ahead of time for 49 cities, and this tool runs it on demand for any place.

↳ Which years can I choose?

You can choose 2026, 2027, and the year after the current one when that is later. The calculation itself covers the years 1951 to 2074.

↳ What if my town is small or not found?

Choose the nearest larger town in the list. The time zone is found from the coordinates, and a difference of a few kilometres changes the times by seconds, not minutes.
