About this piece
A set of nine small brass figures for the Navagraha, the nine planetary deities of Vedic astrology. Each sits or stands with its vehicle on its own base, and several bases carry the name in capitals, such as Guru, Mangal, Budh and Ketu. Surya rides a chariot of horses and Rahu is shown with a tiger.
The seller lists the average figure at about 7 cm tall and the listed weight is 2.5 kg. The photos show the figures arranged in a grid and then one by one.
How it is used
A Navagraha set is traditionally placed together on an altar or shelf, and the nine are named in Navagraha puja and in many graha shanti rituals. Many homes arrange them in a grid or a row.
