About this piece
Narasimha, the lion-faced avatar of Vishnu, sits with Lakshmi beside him under a canopy of serpent hoods, on a coiled base. The brass is gold toned with a lightly worn look.
The idol is 10 cm tall and weighs 275 g, which suits a small shrine, a shelf or a desk. The photos include a close view of the faces and a rear view of the serpent hood.
How it is used
Narasimha is worshipped in many Vaishnava homes and temples, and a small image like this is often kept in the shrine beside other deities of Vishnu.
