About this piece
A bronze Durga as Sherawali Maa, the goddess seated on her lion. She has many arms, each holding an attribute, and the photos show a trident and other weapons. The bronze has a blue green patina that gives it an aged look.
The statue stands on a flat rectangular base, 20.5 cm (8 in) tall and 2.46 kg. It suits a home altar or a wide shelf, and it is the right scale for a Navaratri display.
How it is used
Many homes set up a Durga image on the altar for Navaratri and keep it there through the year. It is usually placed with a lamp and flowers in front.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Avoid harsh cleaners, which can strip a patina finish.
