About this piece
A small bronze idol of Dhana Lakshmi, the form of Lakshmi that tradition links with wealth. She sits cross legged on a round base with four arms, and the photos show coins spilling from a pot in front of her.
The piece is 9 cm (3.5 in) tall and weighs 270 g, so it fits on a shelf or in the corner of a home altar. The finish is a warm copper brown.
How it is used
Many homes keep a Lakshmi image on a small altar or shelf in the puja room, often with a lamp and fresh flowers. A compact piece like this fits a crowded shelf or a small travel shrine.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Avoid harsh polish, which can mark the finish.
