About this piece
This mala is made of selected white tulsi beads, round and 4 mm across, strung on thread with a knot between the beads.
Tulsi is sacred in Vaishnav tradition, and the seller says tulsi is best for worshipping Vishnu, Rama and Krishna. The photos show the pale mala with a white or silver tassel among green leaves, on a bust, and in one view with a red tassel. It is a plain, light mala for japa or wearing.
How it is used
Tulsi malas are used for japa in Vaishnav practice, with mantras to Vishnu, Rama or Krishna, moving one bead at a time with the thumb. Many Vaishnavas also wear tulsi beads close to the neck.
