About this piece
This set holds ten tulsi malas. Each is strung with natural, round, uniform tulsi wood beads of 4 mm, on thread with a knot between the beads.
The seller suggests giving the set as gifts or ordering it for a puja altar, and says the malas can be worn or used for mantra chanting. The photos show the ten malas laid side by side with orange tassels, a single mala among green leaves and one on a bust. The seller warns that cheap malas sold as tulsi may be stained wood.
How it is used
Tulsi is held sacred in Vaishnav tradition and tulsi malas are worn or used for japa to Vishnu, Rama and Krishna. A set of ten suits a family, a group or a gift. Many people keep a spare mala on the altar.
