About this piece
Samidha are the wood sticks offered into the fire in a havan. This kit has one bundle for each of the nine grahas, and the seller says each bundle holds 27 sticks. The woods are Ark for Surya, Palash for Chandra, Khair for Mangal, Apamarga for Budh, Ashvattha for Guru, Audumbara for Shukra, Shami for Shani, Durva for Rahu and Kusha for Ketu.
The kit also has a pack of incense powder made of herbs, spices, frankincense and loban. The photos show the bundles tied with red thread beside small round tins. It suits a household that holds a Navagraha homa.
How it is used
Samidha sticks are offered one by one into the havan fire with mantras. Each graha has its own traditional wood, which is why the kit holds nine kinds. The kit has only the sticks and the incense powder, so the other havan items are bought separately.
