About this piece
A 14 mukhi rudraksha has fourteen natural faces. The seller describes this as a single, hand picked bead with naturally formed faces, traditionally known as Deva Mani, and sells it in two origins, Indonesian and Nepali. You choose the origin before adding it to the cart.
In devotional tradition, the seller says, Deva Mani is connected with the story of Shiva's tears. Devotees use it as a focus for their practice. The photos show the bead on a wood grain surface with the seller's graphics around it.
How it is used
Rudraksha beads are traditionally worn or kept as a focus for practice such as japa, repeating a mantra. The seller suggests storing the bead in a soft pouch when not in use. The Shiva Purana (Vidyeshvara Samhita 25, verse 80) calls the fourteen-faced bead the highest Shiva. Astrologers today pair this bead with Saturn (Shani); the pairing is a later convention, not a statement of the Purana, and it is the one this site uses in its rudraksha guide and free kundali.
