About this piece
Panchamukhi means five-faced. This brass Hanuman sits on a round base with a carved border, with five faces arranged around him and many arms holding weapons and other objects. In tradition the five faces are those of Hanuman, Narasimha, Garuda, Varaha and Hayagriva.
The figure is 7.5 cm tall and weighs 140 g, and the metal has a dark antique finish. The photos include several close-ups of the faces and the arms.
How it is used
Panchamukhi Hanuman is one of the forms of Hanuman worshipped in many homes and temples. In graha remedy practice Hanuman is often linked with Mars and Saturn. A small idol like this is kept on a puja shelf.
