About this piece

Panchamukhi means five faced. This brass figurine shows Hanuman seated on a throne with five faces and a raised hand, with a sunburst halo behind the heads. Red and green inlay work picks out parts of the clothing and ornaments.

It is 20.5 cm (8 inch) tall, 15 cm wide and weighs 1.29 kg. The size suits a shelf, a desk or a small home altar. The photos show a mace resting by his side.

How it is used

In tradition the five faces of Panchamukhi Hanuman are often described as Hanuman, Narasimha, Garuda, Varaha and Hayagriva. Many devotees keep the image on a family altar, with a lamp and flowers before it.
