About this piece
A brass diffuser and fumer from the Dakshina collection. The photos show a gold toned burner standing on a lotus petal base, with a domed lid cut in a fine pattern. Smoke rises through the lid in the first photo.
The seller calls it handcrafted brass. The lid lifts off to show a plain bowl inside, and the underside of the lid shows a flower pattern. It suits a home shrine or a shelf where incense or dhoop is burned.
How it is used
A fumer of this kind holds burning charcoal or incense in the bowl, and the smoke comes out through the holes in the lid. Many homes use one near the shrine or at the entrance for dhoop.
Looking after it
- Let it cool completely before moving or cleaning.
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth and clean ash from the bowl.
