About this piece
A brass diya from the Dakshina collection, shaped as a lotus with layered petals around a bowl for the oil and wick. The photos show four of them together on a plain grey ground and on red cloth, lit and unlit.
The seller page does not say how many come in an order, so the photos may show a set or a single piece shown several times. It suits someone who wants small brass lamps for a home shrine, a festival or a shelf.
How it is used
A diya is filled with oil or ghee and lit with a cotton wick, most often at a home shrine, at festivals and at the start of puja. Many homes keep a few small ones for special days.
Looking after it
- Let it cool fully before touching.
- Wipe off oil and soot with a soft cloth.
