About this piece
A brass lamp from the Dhatu collection, called a handcrafted spiritual diya. The photos show a pair of lamps, each with a seated carved figure on an arched back and a wide bowl in front, standing on small feet.
The seller does not name the deity, so we do not either. The finish is a gold toned brass with darker detail in the carving. It suits a home shrine or shelf where a lamp with a figure is wanted in place of a plain diya.
How it is used
A lamp like this is filled with oil or ghee and lit with a wick at a home shrine, and the figure acts as a small image to keep with it. The seller gives no further instructions.

- Let it cool fully before moving.
- Wipe oil and soot off with a soft dry cloth.
