About this piece
A copper fumer, a small pan for burning sambrani or incense, with a hammered bowl, a lid pierced with small holes and a dark wooden handle. The photos show a pinkish copper finish, the lid lifted off the bowl, and the fumer next to a small display box.
The seller lists it at 12 cm wide, 19 cm high and 405 g, and says the diameter is 26 cm, which probably includes the handle. It is made to be used regularly at home.
How it is used
A fumer like this holds a lit charcoal piece with sambrani or incense on top. The smoke comes out through the holes in the lid, and the handle lets you carry it from room to room. Many homes use one at puja time.
Looking after it
- Let it cool fully, and tip out the ash.
- Wipe with a soft cloth; a cleaner for copper removes tarnish.
