About this piece
An urli is a shallow, wide-mouthed bowl, usually filled with water for floating flowers, petals or small lamps. This one is made of brass, from the Gilded Fiestas collection of the seller The Decor Remedy.
The photos show a warm gold finish and a raised floral design that runs around the outside. The inside is plain. It suits a table, an entrance or a shrine corner.
How it is used
An urli is traditionally filled with water and set with floating flowers, petals or small lamps. Many homes place one at the entrance, on a side table or near the shrine, especially during festivals.
Looking after it
- Empty the water after use and wipe the bowl dry.
- Polish with a soft cloth if the brass dulls.
