About this piece
A white marble dish from the Melodious Settings collection of the seller NikkisPride. Listed as an urli, it is carved as a pair of open, cupped hands with fine lines marking the fingers.
The photos show it used as a serving tray for muffins and fruit and as a small dish for bangles and a necklace. It is a pale, smooth white with soft veining. A diagram in the last photo shows the measurements in small print.
How it is used
A shallow urli like this is traditionally used for floating flowers or petals. The seller photos also show it as a tray for sweets and a dish for jewellery. Many homes place one on a side table or at the entrance.
Looking after it
- Wipe with a damp cloth, then dry.
- Keep away from oil, turmeric and kumkum, which can stain white marble.
