The Mars-Rahu antardasha is the second chapter of the Mars Mahadasha and the longest one in its first half, at about 1 year and 18 days. After the compact opening of Mars-Mars, this sub-period widens the field: Mars still supplies the drive, and Rahu, the north node of the Moon, pushes that drive toward ambition, novelty and the unfamiliar.

It is a widely searched pairing because two powerful planets meet in it and because Rahu has a reputation for intensity. The fuller picture is more balanced.
