How this calculator works
Positions are computed in your own browser by our ephemeris, using the Lahiri ayanamsa, checked against the Swiss Ephemeris to within about ten minutes of arc for Saturn. The time zone in force at your birth place on your birth date, including daylight saving, is applied automatically, and nothing you enter is sent to our server.
The calculator finds your natal Saturn’s exact sidereal longitude, then tracks transiting Saturn forward to find every date it crosses that same longitude. Because Saturn turns retrograde for several months roughly every year, a return can happen as one clean crossing or as up to three passes: Saturn crosses the degree, turns retrograde and crosses back the other way, then turns direct again and crosses a third time. All dates found are shown, first around age twenty-nine to thirty for the first return and around fifty-eight to sixty for the second. Without a birth time, the calculator uses midday, which affects the precision of Saturn’s exact natal degree only slightly, since Saturn moves slowly, but can still shift a return date by a day or two.
Reading your result

Sade Sati is fixed to your Moon’s sign and its timing varies from person to person depending on where your Moon sits.
