About this piece
Dashavatara means the ten avatars of Vishnu. This set shows ten small brass figures arranged on a black tiered stand with a round wood base, so all ten can be seen together.
The figures are in a gold-tone brass finish with fine detail, and the photos include close views of several. The set is 38 cm tall, 30.5 cm across and weighs 3.97 kg.
How it is used
Dashavatara sets are kept in many homes as a display of Vishnu's ten forms, often on a table or shrine shelf. The round stand lets the family turn the set to see each figure.
Looking after it
- Dust with a soft dry cloth.
- Keep the wood base away from water.
